On an excursion to the DesertX Art Installations around the Palm Desert with my friend, Emily, we first stopped a Doug Aitken's "Mirage". The installation was a mirrored glass house that makes the suburban home devoid of its story, instead giving relationship to the environment itself.

Smith.  The purpose of this installation was to displace the planes of land and sky, giving separation, merging and subversion to the viewers' relationship with the desert. Every glance is supposed to be different.
